Glasgow has always been a city of readers, and we love a bargain, hence, for generations, the city was littered with book barrows.
Featuring everything from old encyclopedias to text books, potboilers to the classics (and the odd 'risque' novel), they provided the perfect lunchtime rummaging spot for the city's bookworms.
It's 1949, and this guy had parked his barra up a lane, but, where, we're not sure. Even the presence of a Dunn & Co outfitters, across the road, is of little help, as there were various branches across the city.
